RedTails Drop Two to #15 NIACC

The RedTail Softball Team hosted #15 North Iowa Area Community College in a double header. The RedTails dropped both, losing game one 10-0 and losing game two 10-0 in five innings.

 

Game One: 10 (NIACC), 0 (HCC)

The RedTails threatened with runners on the bases throughout the game but were unable to capitalize. In the fourth inning, the RedTails loaded the bases when Mya Chamberlin forced a Trojan error, Courtney Hemsley was hit by a pitch, and Hailey Harbour singled.

NIACC scored three runs in the third inning, three runs in the fifth inning, and four runs in the sixth inning.

Lucy Lebo, Chamberlin, and Harbour had the three hits for the RedTails. On the mound, Chamberlin threw six innings, giving up eight hits, six runs, two earned, one walk, and seven strikeouts. Adelyn Sienknecht threw one inning, giving up two hits, four runs, just two earned.

 

Game Two: 10 (NIACC), 0 (HCC)

The RedTails were held hitless in game two. Hemsley and Emilee Bergmann were the two base runners in the game, reaching base on walks.

NIACC scored five runs in the third inning, one run in the fourth inning, and four runs in the fifth inning to finish the game in five innings.

Jordan Eads threw four innings, giving up eight hits, six runs, five earned, two walks, and one strikeout. Sienknecht threw one inning, giving up five hits, four runs, four earned, and one strikeout.

 

The RedTails are on the road on Sunday, April 6th at Iowa Lakes Community College. Game time is set for 12:00 PM.
