Triton Bats Too Much for RedTails

The RedTails hosted their final home games of the season, playing #12 ranked Iowa Central in a doubleheader. The RedTails lost both, losing game one 13-0 and losing game two 5-1.

 

Game One: 13 (ICCC), 0 (HCC)

Game one was scoreless for the RedTails, who gathered only three hits throughout the game.

Iowa Central had a few big innings that led the early ending of the game. They scored one run in the first, six runs in the third, five runs in the fourth, and one run in the fifth.

At the plate, Hailey Harbour, Ceyaira Barron, and Emilee Bergmann had hits in the game. On the mound, Jordan Eads took the loss, going 2.1 innings, giving up six hits, seven runs, six earned, two walks, and one strikeout. Adelyn Sienknecht went 2.2 innings, giving up four hits, six runs, four earned, and one strikeout.

 

Game Two: 5 (ICCC), 1 (HCC)

Iowa Central went ahead early in game one, scoring two quick runs on a single and homerun.

They scored their three runs in the third on a double, single, and homerun.

Hawkeye scored their sole run of the day in the sixth inning, when Mya Chamberlin homered.

At the plate, both Lizzy Hamand and Courtney Hemsley were 2-3, and Chamberlin was 1-3 with one run scored and one run batted in. Chamberlin took the loss on the mound, going all seven innings, giving up five runs, five earned, and nine strikeouts.

 

The RedTails play in Boone, Iowa, facing Des Moines Area Community College on Friday, April 18th at 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
