RedTail Wrestling Competes at Luther Open

The Hawkeye Men's Wrestling team traveled to Decorah on Saturday, November 9, to compete in the Luther Open.
Isaiah Kellow (184) placed second and scored 17.0 team points. In his first place match, Kellow lost by tech fall over to Zak McPhee (Wisconsin-Eau Claire). Josh Vis (285) placed 2nd and scored 22.5 team points. In his first place match, Vis lost by decision (2-4) to Cito Tuttle (Rochester Community & Technical College). Isaac Ericson contributed 6.0 team points to help the RedTails. Ethan Krall (149), Gavin Reed (149), and David Misner (165) contributed 3.0 team points apiece, and Austin Pfantz (174) contributed 2.0 points.
The team had seven pins in 32 minutes and 17 seconds, two tech falls in 11 minutes and 46 seconds, nine falls in 44 minutes and 3 seconds, accumulated 193 total match points, and had a winning percentage of 0.4286.
The RedTails Men's Wrestling team is back in action in their first home meet ever, Wednesday, November 20, against Iowa Central.
