RedTail Men’s Wrestling Takes Part in the Battle for the Helmet
The RedTail Men's Wrestling team headed to Mason City on January 4 to compete in the Battle for the Helmet (NIACC Open). The RedTails had 14 guys hitting the mat during the tourney. Placements and results are listed below:
125 lbs: Adam Fish (1-2) placed 6th and scored 8.5 team points.
141 lbs: Tate Turner (1-1) placed 7th, Ethan Krall (1-2) placed 4th and scored 11.0 team points.
149 lbs: Macael Bear (0-2) place is unknown, Gavin Reed (2-2) placed 7th and scored 5.0 team points.
157 lbs: Dominik Ridout (1-2) placed 8th and scored 6.0 team points.
165 lbs: Brody Hoyt (2-2) placed 7th and scored 8.5 team points, Obed Dominguez (0-2) place is unknown.
174 lbs: Austin Pfantz (1-2) placed 4th and scored 12.0 team points, Connor Bates (0-3) placed 8th.
184 lbs: Isaiah Kellow (2-2) placed 7th and scored 8.0 team points, Grant Nason (1-2) place is unknown.
197 lbs: Isaac Ericson (0-2) placed 7th and scored 4.0 team points.
285 lbs: Joshua Vis (3-0) placed 2nd and scored 20.0 team points.
Coach Lovell had this to say after the tourney. "We are still going through growing pains.
Our performance was less than desired, so we'll have to work harder to get better results."
