The RedTails Tie with Iowa Central 1-1

The RedTails Women's Soccer team tied (1-1) against Iowa Central Community College on Saturday, October 5.

The RedTails took the lead with the first goal of the game in the first half. Jael Bruhlmeier, assisted by Annabell Veryard, scored the only goal for the RedTails. Iowa Central, however, was able to come back with a goal of their own, tying the scores. For the rest of the game neither team was able to make strong enough offensive strides to take the lead. The RedTails had two other shots on goal throughout the game While Iowa Central only had one other shot on goal.

Here is what head coach Christopher Rennie had to say about the match:

"We started the game so well and really should have taken a bigger lead at half time. The second half was challenging at times, due to tiredness and fatigue but we still created some good chances and defended well. We are of course disappointed to not pick up the three points we targeted in this game but it's been a really strong start to the season and today's point may still prove very important in the run in."

The RedTails will play against Northwest Iowa Community College on Saturday, October 12.
