Lady RedTails Take 12th at Ted Nelson Classic

MANKATO - The RedTail men's and women's Track & Field teams made the trek North on the first Saturday in February to Minnesota State University to compete in the Ted Nelson Classic inside the Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minnesota.

Highlighting the women's team performances would be a runner-up finish in the Distance Medley for the RedTail team of Mikki Mundus, Jurane Lizer, Atlanta Groeneveld, and anchor Joanna Topham. The team finished the race in a time of 13:03.86, qualifying them for Indoor Nationals this March at Texas Tech.

Topham would also put together a strong performance in the 1000 Meter run as a time of 3:08.35 earned her a 9th place finish overall in the event.

The Polk City, IA native, Tess Nygren, also had a solid showing on the track. Nygren would run a time of 9.909 in the 60 Meter hurdles, and finish 10th.

The trio of Theresa Hatch, Ashley Stogdill, and Morgan Thompson would also shine in the 60 Meter dash for the RedTails. The three would finish 14th, 15th, and 16th respectively in a loaded field of runners.
