Women's Track Continues Successful Indoor Season at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE - The RedTail Men's and Women's Track & Field teams took to the oval inside Williams Fieldhouse on February 10th for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational.
The women's Track & Field team put together several strong individual performances as they are stringing together an overall impressive inaugural season as a team.
On the track, freshman Joanna Topham continued to impress in the long distance races. This meet it was the 5000 meter run that Topham took part in, as she finished in a time of 19:30.24 to take home 3rd in the event.
Jurane Lizer also had an excellent day on the track as she competed hard in all 3 of her events. In the 200 Meter dash, Lizer first took home an 8th place finish after posting a time of 27.43. She then took on a loaded field in the 400 Meter dash and placed 6th with a time of 1:03.37. Lizer and Topham would also team up with Atlanta Groeneveld and Megan Hudson in the 4x400 Meter Relay to take home 6th in the event overall.
Hudson would also excel in her other event on the day as she would win her preliminary heat in the 60 Meter hurdles and qualify for the final. In the finals, Hudson would sprint to the line in a time of 9.23 to take home a 3rd place finish overall in the event.

The RedTails will next head to Storm Lake, Iowa on Friday, February 16th to take part in the NJCAA Regionals hosted by Buena Vista University.
