Lady RedTails Take Seventh at Central College Invitational

PELLA - The Hawkeye Community College Track & Field teams kicked off the outdoor track season at the Dutch Invitational in Pella. The teams both had excellent performances on the track as both would earn 7th place in the final team standings.
Highlighting the women's performances would be Freshman Megan Hudson, as she took home the 100 Meter Hurdle crown after winning the final heat in a time of 15.31. Hudson would also collect a 5th place finish in the 200 Meter Dash after crossing the finish line in a time of 26.91.
Joanna Topham picked up right where she left off from the Indoor Track & Field season. The Griswold, Iowa native earned a 10th place finish in both the 800 Meter Run and in the 1500 Meter Run.
Zarreeel Knox headlined the RedTails performances in the field events. Knox's best jump of 4.89 Meters in the Long Jump would earn her a 5th place finish in the event. Knox would also hit the track for the 100 Meter Dash where she would finish 14th with a time of 14.09.
Knox and Hudson would team up in the 4x100 Meter Relay, along with Miara Oliver, and Theresa Hatch, the RedTail squad would sprint to the line in a time of 53.16 to finish 8th overall.
