RedTails Reach Season Bests At Waldorf Winter Invite

HUMBOLT–This past weekend (Saturday February 13) the RedTail Women's Track and Field team did not disappoint, setting many new personal records and season best times.

 

Starting with Mckenna Miller, who took 10th in the 60-meter dash and had a PR with a 8.81. Miller also led the charge in the 200 taking seventh overall. 

 

In the 800 there were many season bests. Ryann Portch took the win at 2:24.94, Kaylee Leicht taking second with a time of 2:26.77, Emma Drake with a 2:33.76 taking fifth, and Sophie Spargur who took seventh at 2:37.89. 

 

Coach Tyler Mulder stated, "Overall the quartet helped punch the women's 4x800 relay ticket to nationals by getting a composite time under the national qualifier." 

 

Portch took another win in the mile with 5:37.31. Hannah Payne took first in her 3K event. Mindi Sande made her debut in the 5K with an impressive 22:06. 

 

Kylee Neighbors placed in the top two for both the 60-meter hurdles (second) and high jump in which she won. 

 

Lastly but certainly not least Allison Flanscha had a PR in shot put where she heaved a winning mark of 11.59m (38 ¼ ).

 

Coach Mulder was pleased with the women's meet saying, "There were several key performances including Flanscha who really closed the gap on the auto qualifier and school record. Also Kaylee Neighbors who is feeling confident as she took the meet crown in the high jump."

 

The RedTails next compete in the Region XI Indoor Championship held at the University of Central Missouri on Saturday, February 20.
