Female Athlete of the Week-Abby Bartz

RedTail Track and Field student-athlete Abby Bartz has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performances in both the Friday Knight Lights Invite at Wartburg College on January 26th and the Fighting Bee Invitational at St. Ambrose University on January 27th.

Abby had an outstanding weekend while competing in back to back meets. She also has been working hard in the classroom to maintain her grades. Abby qualified for Nationals in the Shot Put at St. Ambrose while also breaking her Indoor School Record.

"Abby has been working really hard to get back to competing well in Shot Put and this weekend it finally started to click," said assistant coach Jhawan Horton. "She placed second having two throws hitting the national standard while also breaking her own Indoor Shot Put school record. We are all proud of her."

Bartz is originally from Vinton, IA.
