RedTail Women’s Track and Field Team tied for 4th place at the Region XI Championships

COUNCIL BLUFFS–The RedTail Women's Track team tied for fourth place in the Region XI Championships with a score of 55 on May 3-5, 2024. They were also a top team for the Division II. Head coach Scott Roberts said, "I was really proud of how the women battled their way through at the last race to tie with Southeastern Community College." The girls needed two more points to beat them, and they settled for a tie. 

Sophomore Grace Rathe came in 11th place in the 100-meter prelims with a time of 14.25 seconds. Her teammate, Victoria McCraney came in 13th place with a time of 15.31 seconds. 

In the 100-meter hurdles, Kallie Mincks came in 9th place (17.62 seconds). 

In the 200-meter prelims, Tasha Williams came in 11th place with a time of 27.97 seconds. Kendall See was not far behind running 28.19 seconds, which gave her 13th place. Grace Rathe ran a 29.91 (16th place). And Victoria McCraney got 19th place with a time of 33.94 seconds. 

Kendall See ran the 400-meter dash and received fifth place with a time of 1:05.02. 

Even though Amber Homan is currently coming back from an injury, she ran in the 800-meter. Coach Roberts said, "Amber Homan gave everything she had, and she did an amazing job." She was carried off the track after receiving fourth place with a time of 2:23.84. 

Maddie Tieskotter came in eighth place in the 1500 meter (5:39.74). 

Anna Dietzenbach came in second place in the 3000-meter steeple. Coach Roberts said, "She hasn't done the event a whole lot, but she did a tremendous job scoring second place." 

In the 5000-meter, Maddie Tieskotter came in sixth place with a time of 22:59.04. Anna Dietzenbach also ran but did not score. 

For the relays, the women came in fifth place for the 4x100. The runners were Kallie Mincks, Anna Homan, Kendall See, and Tasha Williams. They ran a time of 51.90 seconds. 

The 4x400 did exceptionally well receiving second place with a time of 4:26.77. The runners were Kallie Mincks, Amber Homan, Kendall See, and Tasha Williams

"We scored big points in the throws, which helped us tremendously," said coach Roberts. In women's discus, Elyse Trunck came in fourth place with 35.58 meters. Darcee O'Loughlin got 10th place with 28.98 meters. In 12th place was Olivia Hammel (25.74 meters). Delaney Kopriva was in 14th place with 24.63 meters. Alina Bruhlmeier was not far behind in 15th place (19.25 meters). 

In the hammer throw Darcee O'Loughlin came in fifth place with 35.82 meters. Elyse Trunch threw 34.70 meters, which gave her seventh place. Delaney Kopriva was right behind her in eighth place (34.40 meters). Olivia Hammel was in 12th place throwing 30.36 meters. And Alina Bruhlmeier came in 17th place with 26.41 meters. 

Tasha Williams came in seventh place with 1.30 meters in the high jump. In the javelin throw, Elyse Trunck received ninth place with 25.22 meters. Alina Bruhlmeier got 11th place (19.77 meters). In 12th place was Darcee O'Loughlin with 19.38 meters. And Delaney Kopriva came in 13th place (16.90 meters). 

In the shot put Delany Kopriva received fifth place with 11.01 meters. Elyse Trunck came in seventh place (9.67 meters). Alina Bruhlmeier came in ninth place with 9.24 meters. In 11th place with 9.16 meters was Olivia Hammel. Darcee O'Loughlin received 14th place with 8.74 meters. 

"I am very proud of how the women performed, and was really happy with how they finished the meet," Roberts said.
