RedTails Fall to DMACC in Three-Set Battle

The RedTails snapped their undefeated streak after falling to the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Bears in a consistent 19-25, three-set match on Sunday, February 7, in Boone.

The blue and orange were unable to pull ahead offensively, trailing the Bears in kills 9-15, 10-13, and 10-12. Haley Eckerman led the RedTails tallying nine kills, followed by Amber Rickert with seven. The RedTail defense remained strong, led by Bailey Hoff totaling 22 digs on the night. Emily Clapp stood tall at the net with four solo blocks.

"DMACC was really solid offensively and we couldn't terminate when we needed to," said head coach Tyann Caspers. "Moving forward that match gave us a lot of things to work on and learn from."

The women will meet the Bears for a rematch in the Health Education and Services Center (HESC) on Sunday, February 28.

This week, the RedTails take on Iowa Central Community College in the HESC on Tuesday, February 9.
