RedTails Ranked #13 After 3-0 Victory Over Iowa Lakes

The RedTail Women's Volleyball team defeated the Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers in three sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-18) at home on Wednesday, February 24.

 The RedTails were riding high on a two-game winning streak coming into Wednesday's match and were determined to keep it rolling against the Lakers. They tallied 30 kills and a .204 hitting percentage on the night compared to the Lakers 22 kills and .045 kill percentage.

 The blue and orange started off set one by pulling ahead 9-5, leading to a Lakers timeout. The RedTails used the timeout to their advantage, leading them to their 13-point win. They stood strong throughout set two by taking the early lead 11-1 and finishing with a strong win.

 The RedTails continued their impressive play into an exciting set three. They looked strong at the net and did not allow anything to get past them, ultimately leading to their 7-point victory. The women totaled 12.5 blocks on the night compared to the Lakers 1.0. 

 Amber Rickert and Jessica Jacobs led the RedTails offensively with six and nine kills for the night. Hawkeye recorded 82 total digs for the match, led by libero Bailey Hoff with 24.

 Next up, the RedTails travel to Cedar Rapids to take on fourth ranked Kirkwood Community College on Friday, February 26.
