RedTails Continue Their Winning Streak With  A Clean Sweep Against SCC

Now ranked number 13, the RedTails continue to prove their excellence with a 3-0 match against Southeastern. A quick match with a total of only two timeouts, RedTails dominated leading by five or more each set.

 

In the first set, the RedTails were in full control, leading by eight points throughout. There were no time-outs to stop the fierce course that the RedTails were on. They finished in a dominant fashion against the Blackhawks, 25-14.

 

At the start of the second set, the RedTails and Blackhawks were scoring back and forth point for point. The RedTails were able to find their momentum though and took the lead. At the first time-out of the night, the RedTails took the lead 23-19 only needing two more points to win the second set, which they did, 25-20.

 

The RedTails come in dominating the third and what would be the final set. During the duration of the third set they kept an impressive lead of five or more points. At the second and last time-out of the night the RedTails were leading 24-17, one point away from winning the match. The Redtails came through with a win 25-17.

 

Sophomore Jessica Jacobs was pleased with her team's performance saying, "I feel like our serve receive was really good. That leads us and we can run multiple sets, mixing it up which is key. We also had really solid blocks, low and tight and lastly we got our serves in."

 

Key scorer's from the match were Amber Rickert with nine kills. Bailey Hoff with 13 digs and Madison Fillinger with an impressive 18 assists.
