RedTail Volleyball Stifles Southwestern

WATERLOO-The RedTail Volleyball team put a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-18) beatdown on the Southwestern Spartans on Sunday, March 14.

 

The #8 ranked RedTails set the tone early in the first set, going on an 11-1 in the middle of the set that propelled them to a 25-11 win. Set two was more of the same, with the RedTails dominating from beginning to finish, winning 25-12. The Spartans showed their fight in set three however, with the match being within a few points late. The perseverance from the RedTails though, as they closed the third set with a 25-18 win.

 

Sophomore Emily Clapp put her outstanding talents on display, recording four service aces, 10 kills, and 16 digs throughout the match.

 

"It was a great match," said head coach Tyann Caspers. "We spread out the offense and it helped us to be successful."

 

The RedTails will look to extend their win streak to three games when they travel to take on Marshalltown Community College on Tuesday, March 16.
