RedTails Postseason Comes To An End After Facing Fourth-Ranked Tritons

FORT DODGE- The RedTail Volleyball teams postseason came to an abrupt end as they faced the Iowa Central Tritons Tuesday, March 30 in Fort Dodge. The RedTails were defeated in a 3-1 match (26-24, 17-25, 19-25, 14-25).

It was a tough first set, but the RedTails ultimately came out on top leading by two points. Unfortunately the RedTails were unable to keep their momentum for the remainder of the match. They trailed by six or more points in the last three sets.

Sophomore Jessica Jacobs really showed up for her final game as a RedTail leading the team in kills with 11. Sophomore Amber Cooling pulled out an impressive 19 aces and freshman Bailey Hoff had an outstanding performance in digs with 26.

Coach Tyann Caspers had this to say about last night's game. "We played a great first set but just had a lot of unforced errors. We did some really great things and had an overall great energy on the court. Our bench did a great job of keeping the spirits high throughout the entire match!"

This was sophomore's Justina Egger's, Lauren Hawker, Ashley Grapp, Amber Rickert, Emily Clapp, Taylor Wendt, Jessica Jacobs, and Meriah Wittgreve last game.

During this unprecedented 2020-2021 season, the RedTails had to face huge adversities. Coach Caspers knew this would be a year with obstacles however she knew they could still make it a fun competitive season saying, "Despite everything, everyone always showed up and was willing to work hard. It was overall a great season, not the ending we wanted but we accomplished a lot and the RedTails this season laid the foundation for years to come."
