RedTails lose in Hard Fought Match to #1 Tritons

WATERLOO–The #9 ranked RedTail volleyball team took on #1 Tritons and the RedTails battled hard throughout the night, but fell short to the Tritons 1-3 (19-25, 25-18, 27-29, 27-29).

The RedTails started off slow in the first set, but fought hard back to win the second set. The third and fourth sets had spectators on the edge of their seats, as the games became closer and more intense. The team showed their determination and worked hard, despite falling short. Most importantly, they never gave up and believed in one another.

The RedTails had a total of 51 kills on the night. Amber Rickert had a total of 20 kills and Haley Eckerman had a total of 11 kills on the night. Bailey Hoff was proficient on defense with a total of 40 digs.

Coach Tyann Wolfensperger said, "It was a hard fought battle by the RedTails. We had multiple opportunities, but we just could not finish out the sets. Overall our girls did a great job. Iowa Central terminated more effectively which led to our demise."

The RedTails will look to bounce back Saturday September 20, when they play at Iowa Western Community College at 6:00 PM in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
