RedTail Volleyball Falls to DMACC 3-2

WATERLOO–RedTail Volleyball had a tough game as they looked to stay perfect in conference play as they took on the DMACC Bears on Wednesday, September 14, at 6:00pm

The RedTails and the Bears had a hard fought match on Wednesday night as both teams wanted to pick up another win in conference play. The opening set was back and forth but the Bears were able to make a run at the end to take the first set 27-25. Much more of the same came in the second set as both teams battled but the RedTails were able to go on a run late and take the second set with a score of 25-22. The Bears led most of the third set but were confronted with a late charge from the RedTails but it proved to not be enough and the Bears would take set four with a score of 25-23. In the fourth set the RedTails defense was superb which led them to a 25-20 victory to force a fifth set. The Bears were too much for the RedTails and won the fifth 15-11 to give them the 3-2 victory.

Head coach Tyann Wolfensperger had some positive words after the game.

"We played a tough match," she said. "The girls worked hard but overall DMACC came out on top. We learned a lot from the match and are hoping to keep improving."

The RedTails next matchup will come when they host Marshalltown Community College on Saturday, September 17, at 1:00pm.
