RedTails fall against DMACC

The RedTail volleyball team traveled to Des Moines, Tuesday, October 15, to face the DMACC Bears.
The RedTails lost in three sets (15-25, 14-25, 19-25).
Mallory Tisue led all Hawkeye attackers with 10 kills, while Ruby Patterson and Emersyn Secora each added six kills to the effort.
"DMACC does a good job of running a lot of different play sets in serve receive and transition. It challenges the blockers and the defenders," said head coach Chris Mahi. "We struggled with that the first two sets and finally started to figure it out in the third set. We also missed a lot of serves, which isn't typical for us, as serving aggressively is one of our strengths. I am proud of how we battled in the third set. Our energy was better and the girls fought hard to compete."
The RedTails are back in action Thursday, October 17, against Southwestern Community College at home.
