RedTails Place 4th at Les Duke Grinnell Invitational

GRINNELL–The RedTails Women's Cross Country ran their first 6k on September 11 and were able to place fourth overall.
First to finish for the RedTails and placing fourth overall was Emma Hoins with a time 23:23.7. Ryann Portch was not far behind placing seventh overall with a time of 23:35.7. Next to cross the line for the RedTails was Chloe Matthews with a time of 25:23.8 placing 22nd overall. Finishing 38th overall with a time of 27:40.1 was Aviella Holtz. Aubrey Eick finished with a time of 27:57.9 placing 40th overall.
"Our women's team performed well for going up in distance for a 6k," says coach Tyler Mulder. "They battled the elements of heat well. Emma ran really strong to be our top finisher and I was proud of the women in how they competed to the line. We saw Aviella just fly through the finish to beat out a group of women!"
Next up for the RedTails is the Trent Smith Invite in Mason City on October 8.
